About this course
Practical Risk Management is a 10-hour CPD course built around the ISO 31000 framework. It shows managers how to identify, assess and treat risk in plain language, and how to make risk part of how decisions get made rather than a report nobody reads.
The course runs as four weekly live online sessions of 1.5 hours with a qualified trainer, covering Risk in plain language; Finding and framing risk; Assessing and prioritising; and Treating and monitoring. Between sessions learners work through worksheets and workplace scenarios, about 50 hours of learning in total, and the course is assessed by a 1,500-word written assignment applied to their own workplace. Learners who pass receive a certificate for 10 CPD hours.
It is designed for managers and team leads who own operational risk but have no formal risk training, compliance, quality and operations staff who keep the risk register, project leads weighing risk on costly decisions and owner-managers who want a defensible risk process.
