About this course
Structured Problem Solving and Decision Making is a 10-hour CPD course that gives teams a shared method for cracking problems and making decisions. It covers how to define the real problem, generate options, weigh trade-offs and decide, without drowning in analysis.
The course runs as four weekly live online sessions of 1.5 hours with a qualified trainer, covering Define the real problem; Get to root cause; Generate and compare options; and Decide and record. Between sessions learners work through worksheets and workplace scenarios, about 50 hours of learning in total, and the course is assessed by a 1,500-word written assignment applied to their own workplace. Learners who pass receive a certificate for 10 CPD hours.
It is designed for managers and team leads who own recurring problems, project and operations staff facing complex decisions with real trade-offs, analysts and specialists who need to structure a messy problem and owner-managers making high-stakes calls.
