What we look for
Approval means we have checked the evidence
Not just read a CV. Every application is reviewed by a person, and approval is given for named subjects.
Teaching or training experience
A teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor in Education, a PGCE or our Train the Trainer course. Or at least 2 years of training adults, with one piece of proof.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification or recognised expertise in each subject, with the certificates uploaded.
A real profile
Your LinkedIn profile link, so we can see your history. A website or short video is welcome but not required.
A Code of Conduct
A signed declaration that everything is true, and agreement to our Code of Conduct. If anything turns out to be false, approval is removed.
How it works
Three simple steps
No referees to chase. We do the checking.
-
01
Apply (no fee)
Create your account, tell us what you train, and upload your CV and certificates. Have a teaching qualification? Then you do not need proof of training experience. Save and come back any time.
-
02
We review it
We check your evidence and your LinkedIn profile, usually within a few working days. If something is not clear, we ask. Only then might we ask for a referee.
-
03
Go live and share it
Once approved, activate your listing for €29 a year, or free for the first year with an invitation code. You get your trainer number, a certificate, a public profile and a LinkedIn photo frame, plus ready-made images to tell your network.
Applying costs nothing. If we approve you, membership is €29 a year. Have an invitation code? Your first year is free and you will not be asked for a payment card. Nothing renews without you choosing to.

Code of Conduct
What every Approved Trainer agrees to
- Be honest about your credentials. Everything in your application is true, and you tell us if anything changes.
- Use the mark properly. Say you are an Approved Trainer only for your approved subjects, and only while your approval is current.
- Do not overclaim. Approval is about you as a trainer. It is not an accreditation of any course, and never say a course is accredited unless it has its own accreditation number.
- Keep your own CPD up to date. Keep learning in the subjects you teach.
- Treat learners fairly. Be respectful and inclusive, and give honest information about your training.
- Protect personal data. Look after learners' details and use them only for the training.
- Work with us. Answer our questions and help if we look into a complaint about your training.
- Stop using the mark if it ends. If your approval lapses, is suspended or is removed, take the mark down from your profiles and materials.
If a trainer breaks the Code, we can suspend or remove their approval. Complaints and appeals follow our complaints and appeals process.
Questions
Good to know
Who can apply?
Anyone who trains or teaches adults: freelance trainers, coaches, in-house trainers, lecturers and course authors, based anywhere. You need either a teaching qualification or at least 2 years of training experience.
Which teaching qualifications count?
A Bachelor in Education, a PGCE or another teaching degree or diploma, a recognised train-the-trainer certificate, or our own Train the Trainer course. With one of these, you do not need to send proof of training experience.
Do I need referees?
No. We check your evidence and your LinkedIn profile ourselves. We only ask for a referee in the rare case where something does not add up.
No teaching qualification? What counts as proof of training experience?
One document is enough: a teacher’s warrant, a course outline or programme you delivered, a training certificate you issued to a learner, or a letter or invoice from a client. You can hide prices and private details.
Is this the same as accrediting my course?
No. Approval is about you as a trainer, for the subjects you are approved for. A course gets its own accreditation and its own number through our accreditation service. Being an Approved Trainer helps when a course you deliver is assessed, because trainer competence is part of our standard.
How long does a decision take?
Usually a few working days. We email you as soon as we decide, and you can see where your application stands in your portal.
What does it cost?
Applying is free. Once we approve you, it is €29 a year, paid once by payment card. If we gave you an invitation code, your first year is free and you will not be asked for a payment card. Refer other trainers and earn €14.50 for every one who pays for their first year, or a free year for every one who joins with a free code. Every training provider you refer who buys a plan takes 50% off your next year. Two optional upgrades help people find you: Open to New Work (€15 a year) and a Featured listing (€25 a year).
What happens to my documents?
Only you and our reviewers can see them. Your public profile shows only your name, photo, subjects, bio and the links you choose. If we cannot approve an application, its documents are deleted after 6 months. See our privacy notice.
Can I also become an assessor?
Yes. We are always glad to hear from experienced trainers who would like to assess courses in their own field for the Bureau. It is flexible, remote, paid work. See Work with us to find out more and apply.
