Award in Performance Supervision and Management

Award in Performance Supervision and Management is for people who have just started leading a team, or are about to. It covers the shift in mindset, the core conversations and the day-to-day habits that separate a supervisor from a senior colleague. It runs as nine monthly cohorts, each tuned to a specific sector, and is also accredited by the MFHEA at MQF Level 4 (2 ECTS).

The course runs as four weekly live online sessions of 2.5 hours with a qualified trainer, covering From doing to leading: the supervisor's shift; Getting work done through others; The core conversations; and Managing performance and yourself. Between sessions learners work through worksheets and workplace scenarios, about 50 hours of learning in total, and the course is assessed by a 1,500-word written assignment applied to their own workplace. Learners who pass receive a certificate for 10 CPD hours.

It is designed for new and recently promoted supervisors, technically strong staff moving into their first role leading people, shift and floor supervisors who were never trained for the role and owner-managers who need their supervisors leading people consistently.
